My name is Ivan Montes. I live in Everett, Washington.  I was born in Mexico, but have lived my entire life in the U.S. I started keeping birds at the age of fifteen; it has been about six years now. At first, I kept just a few zebras, then societies.  In the past several years, I have been more involved with breeding and shows.

I now keep only a small number of birds, and only Society finches.  I started with pieds from a local pet shop. Then, I learned about selfs, Japanese and the Euros.  With my increase in interest, I searched and read everything I could find.  I learned about all the color mutations. Soon, I desired the rarest colors.
